Foster Care Facts

Why do children come into foster care? 

There are many reasons for children to be removed from their family homes and placed in foster care. Each case is unique and includes many factors but these are the most common:

  • Abandonment
  • Death
  • Incarceration
  • Neglect
  • Physical abuse
  • Sexual abuse
